Image Comics was a blip, since a lot of great storylines still existed afterward. Age of Apocalpse. Busiek Avengers. Morrison's XMen. Ennis' Punisher. Bendi' Daredevil. Various Captain Americas. Plus, the Ultimate Universe. Runaways. Iron Fist (forget who). Moon Knight (various).Various spidermans.
Not lauded, but popular: Civil War. Marvel Zombies. Dark Avengers. New Avengers. House of M. Many others.
But after a decade or so of popular titles, shit started sliding steeply in around the time Seige. Not surprisingly, it's when Disney bought them.
Or are you saying Marvel recovered financially after Image left? Cause speculator market is why they never recovered, not Image. Image's creation just coincided during the pumping and dumping.
