The instructions specifically call for Mr Color 331 which is described as an RAF aircraft's Dark Seagray on the jar, and even there it makes it looks incredibly blue
I wish I had gotten the 1/48 version because it has a geared propeller hub that actually makes the blades counter rotate. I'm planning on giving it rockets and a torpedo. Never actually tried using stripe decals, but the only other plane I've built that had them was a 1/72 which I also painted (and fucked up) myself.
I don't know actually get them properly aligned and spaced. I have a grid stencil cutter thing but in both the 1/72 and 1/48 grid the tape strips seemed too small. I think this time turned out better than the Typhoon's stripes, but I still didn't do a great job
>>11636017I painted the catalina in the OP with all mission models tire black and had no problems, but I also didn't have to do any sort of masking at all. I think in a use case like that it might be ok.
