Usually they have shit/non-historic paintjob (because "hey, we don't have that exact protective green, let's just use what we have here, who cares lol") and/or weathering from prolonged exposure to elements with little to no maintenance (protective canvases, regular maintenance, like in active units). Some older stuff has really weird mix of upgrades.
