>>10450715I don't think it's a mental deficiency. Halo started out with those figures, only converting to the 2nd gen style after CoD proved a success. While the new style certainly has its advantages in customization, posing and overall level of detail, I think it also lost some of the charm those original figs had. There's something to be said about not having fiddly armor bits to worry about, or feeling like they have to hold their weapons realistically cuz the articulation (often barely) permits it.
Having both is nice in that your 2nd gen Spartans feel a little more in scale with the shorter 1st gen Marines, while most 2nd gen Covenant are also a better fit size-wise. Than again, as a lifelong army men guy I've never worried too much about scale.
