Can we remember the way that Hasbro sold us all on the original Classics line?
We had just rid our selves of the Unicron Trilogy, where many fans felt alienated by the "gimmicks" of the lines, and in order for Hasbro to get people back on board, they said this in a press conference: "Transforming IS the gimmick" and everyone rallied behind them.
Here we are though, a gross continuation of gimmicks, now with classics characters...
