I think it's my favorite year personally, something about the designs just works. Everyone has a unique build, the designs are great, and the Mahri look/feel truly robotic. It also appealed a lot to my kid respect for edginess.
Granted, Bionicle lore is a lot cooler on paper than it is in action. The comics/books/movies/etc always seem to have these lofty mysterious ideas that they ruin with corny dialogue and flat characters.
