>>9040072>Is the license for star wars just that much?Yeah, just look at the Lego Star Wars CCBS Constraction sets compared to the in-house Bionicle G2 CCBS sets. The Star Wars CCBS stuff almost always had less pieces, yet were the price of “premium” Bionicle sets gang would come with two figures, or the price of the larger sets.
But also, it’s probably due to Hasbro/Disney in general now. Sometimes it’s a a mix of both (Disney sith the license part, and Hasbro with the Hasbro-ing). Because, from wha I hear and see and read (I don’t actually really collect figures anymore) apparently the GI Joe stuff is stupidly expensive too. Plus, some companies think they have “brand power”. Like, Mega Construx has super-articulated for its scale mini-figures, basically making them small yet fully articulated action figures, Fordo noh about 4 dollars in a blind bag, which included a weapon, a stand/base, and interchangeable and customizable armor pieces. Yet when Lego has blind bags of a similar nature, they ask for 6 or more dollars for the same old minifigres, having basically 5 points of articulation, and MAYBE having an accessory with them. But people will just eat it up because it’s Lego and they pander to two main audiences.
