>>6777610 noted, Arcadia took over the v2 mold from Yamato and has been producing VF-1s that represent the final iteration of Yamato's v2, where all the issues were corrected (in my pics, the VF-1S is a Yamato, while the VF-1J is an Arcadia). Arcadia produces them in much smaller runs though, and as a result the prices are much higher than they were under Yamato. That being said, they are superb toys and if you're a fan of the VF-1 you really owe it to yourself to check one out.
The transformation is well thought out and straightforward, the sculpt and detail are excellent, and it just has a solid, quality feel in-hand.
In-short; avoid the v1, get the v2, and Arcadia VF-1 releases are the perfected v2.
