True, it wasn't normally worn on the actual battlefield (as women themselves often weren't allowed to fight in general), but it WAS worn for both ceremonial events...and in public mock battles that were for show rather than actually killing each other, exactly like what you'd expect a Gladiatrix to wear. So it's actually historically accurate, like it or not.
