The later Brave-ripoffs showed that BFB was good at replicating Obari proportions and Japanese artstyles, but it also highlighted that their design team had no engineering sense and their designs mostly relied on anime-magic for their transformation and combinations (just like Obari did for his robots, in a way).
Their 2nd series got problematic because it featured a cast of 6 main robots that could transform, swap arms and had 3, 5 and 8 component combinations with two accessory robots. None of the toys they made could perform all these features, the sets were all unitaskers that only-transformed or only-combined.
