As long as the joints all work, I wouldn't care about anything else. After sculpting/shaving to get rid of the roboty bits and give it a more stylized figure, the whole thing is getting covered head to toe in fabric.
I'm only moderately experienced with sculpting and modding, and not deliberately looking for a charity case figure to fix up. I just don't want to chop up an expensive, limited release figure, especially when paintjob and face sculpt are totally irrelevant.
