I quite liked the New Age of Heroes characters. Silencer's Romita covers did her no favors, I feel, but I think her story was the best of the ones I've read despite being apprehensive of doing so (don't judge a cover and all that). Brimstone's also got a cool design, and it was good to see the character cameo in a recent book.
