But seriously, Beast Wars has organic shapes and they reuse the animal/bug/etc leg/arm to be an arm/leg for the robot. With a machine, that wheel well or hood needs to become an arm or leg instead and you're left with a negative side that needs to be reinforced or it'll break.
Nevermind that negative side seems to have been part of the style since forever too, because why else would weapons that have no business needing to be "waffled" be designed this way? Coke and Pepsi brown.
I mean, i get it, I'd love that the weapons/robots to actually look a little realistic and not like they're not hollow toys, but cola is brown and will always be brown. Pretty dumb to just suddenly snap over it after 40 years.
