I don't think I removed anything for the wooden deck on my Mikasa, but I also seem to recall seeing cases where details are chopped off, planked over and replaced with PE.
>>7329124Based on the one case I've done some care will be necessary when separating the bis of decking from the surrounding material, since the wood is really thin and the laser cutting may not be 100%. But as long as that turns out it's just a matter of peeling off the backing and sticking it on, as these things tend to be self-adhesive. Some fuckups, if they happen, can hen be mended by cutting planks out of the excess material and sticking those on.
