>>9986596> It feels absurd that I got this majestic thing for just $5 more than a Marvel Legends. >He is doing very ambitious shit at a time when Hasbro's offerings are looking increasingly piecemeal for the price.I guess one of the things that Hasbro thinks will allow them to keep upping their prices is the people who are used to or "loyal" to Hasbro or specific licenses they have and can't see abandoning their lines even as they get less and less for their dollar. I've seen a few old timers who feel they have basically every figure they want out of say Marvel or Star Wars say they will call it quits on those though or just buy 1 or 2 figures a year if they fill a few holes they want. But by and large it seems like these ridiculously priced double packs are still selling, even if the C and D list characters in baf waves aren't.
As someone who is receptive to buying Star Wars figures at 20 and have a couple from that price point, seeing what they are doing now with some being ~$27 and the Dark Troopers being ~$33 just leads me to nope out on even bothering to look at Star Wars figure releases. They are definitely losing sales with their prices. I doubt they care right now though.
Anyway it's nice to see someone concerned about keeping costs down putting some competitive pressure on them. Heck even Mattel with Masterverse has some nice figures that can get attractive on value if on sale, although they have some unreasonable "deluxes".
