>>10763173>I've come to heavily dislike the western collector style action figure model of many parts/articulation points without actual decent joint engineering. I agree over-engineered but still unable to move figures are annoying. I wouldn't specifically say it's a solely western issue, but there are still plenty of western lines with tons of joints but no actual usable articulation.
The last NECA figure I messed with was Goliath and he was just *awful*. Despite the double jointed elbows, he has no range to em, his chest is sculpted to literally get in the way of his biceps, his knees were just...all wrong and that damn neck. I was a HUGE Gargoyle fan as a kid, but I dropped the whole line after how disappointing Goliath was.
I don't feel the Legions have those problems. They have a fairly simple, standard articulation breakdown and while their elbows are certainly limited, I can still get them into poses I can be happy with. Again, they won't be doing anything too extreme, but they can do almost everything I expect a guy in heavy armor to be able to pull off.
....also, the Articulated Icons are another great example of over-engineered but poor range of movement figures. The bare ninja fare better, but they can still be awfully fiddly.
