I usually see the following trends
>base toy with abusive black panel line washes
>straight clean repaint job
>straight repaint job done by literal retard/someone who shouldn't be anywhere near a pc
>clean paint job, modded parts, pic related
>OC with parts that are easily removable ie balljoints sections and mushroom pegs on unpainted bodies, lego parts may or may not be present
I never once seen a custom of any kind with any sort of shading, I'm guessing anyone who works with tf's aren't model makers by trade eh?
Pic related still impresses me but its either a clean repaint or its just a terrible wash
