This is the first Soundwave I've ever had that could turn into a proper tape deck (though I figured out the 'semi-official' fanmode for Siege Soundblaster a while back), and while the transformation is also fairly simple (almost identical to Blaster's), it looks much better than his Siege 'spaceship' mode. He's smaller than Blaster's boom box, and a bit 'fatter' from behind because of where his arms fold up; all of his weapons peg into slots on his backside.
It's good to finally own a 'proper' Soundwave, even if he's an alternately colored, alternate universe version fo the character. On the not of hsi colors, I'm a fan of pristine white anyway, but the metallic baby-blue is really nice and hte lime green accents on his door and headband are eyecatching but not too out of place.
Can't say I'm overly impressed with his cassettes, though - particularly Ravage, who doesn't look very catlike, has a head that's way too small and shoudlers/thighs that are way too big, and completely lacks a tail (which bothers me more than it should). Laserbeak is okay-ish but could be better; He does have a neat little feature where his downward turned toe tips actually slip into notches on Soundwave's forearms, letting him perch to a degree as seen in my first pic. Still, I much prefer how the MP versions of both characters look, even if I never actually owned MP Soundwave.
I still want to get my hands on the Netflix Soundwave at some point, but this still turned out to be a nice alternative in the meantime. A nice addition to the SG shelf.
