Hasbro has dabbled in it with a talking Duke, who had facial expressions. Then there's all the silicone overlays that they use on their toys, which has been improved over the past 15 years of them using it.
Who knows what else they've produced that i didnt follow and even shit that they had planned but never released. There are dozens of ideas and new products planned every single year.
Like i said, they've probably already invented a highly durable rubber material that could be used, but haven't for whatever reason. They produce a ton and ton of toys and have entire teams of scientists to invent new shit just in case it can be used as a toy.
