>>8748637>Don't know why there's even fans of ut to begin with. The toys were all bad, how could anyone have a good childhood playing with bricks? In all fairness....I like the anon you're responding to, also pretty much "quit" Transformers because of Armada, I bought some of the toys and hated them and watched some of the show and hated it and every time I heard a a new line was coming out that was a sequel to it I said "not interested" and just didn't care at all until Animated got my curiosity once more.
That being said, while I still have no interest whatsoever in the characters or fiction of any of the Unicron Trilogy, I have become a fan of many of the post Armada toys, I've gotten a few of them that I missed out on from both Energon and Cybertron. There was good stuff especially after Armada, just in terms of cool figures.
>>8748612Its interesting, my timeline is pretty much the same as yours but all my G2 boys were my collection jewels. I loved Beast Wars and definitely enjoyed the better articulation than (most) G2 era toys, but even the G2 repaints of G1 bricks were still my favorite toys.
All in all, my hatred of Armada was about more than simply the fact that they were brickish, it was more about it being a blatant regression from pretty cool vehicle formers in RiD and also the ass ugly aesthetic and dumb transformations.
