>>7805262After messing with the Zaku for most of the day, I've got just two gripes. First, the panel on top of the head flips up to give you access to the little dial that swivels the monoeye and they give you a small tool to turn the monoeye dial. But, I can't seem to get the panel to open up as wide as it does in the instruction manual, which means I don't have enough room to get in there with the tool to turn the dial. Probably something I just need to mess around with a bit more.
My second issue was with the machine gun. Both the machine gun and the bazooka have small covers for their optics that flip open. It's a really cool touch and the cover clicks securely into place whether you have it opened or closed. While the optic cover opened just fine on the bazooka, it was firmly stuck shut on the machine gun.
I ultimately had to use a toothpick in order to get enough leverage behind the cover's small tabs to force the optics open (and the toothpick broke three times while trying to get it open, haha). In the process, I lightly stressed the plastic on the tab. It's not really noticeable, and you can't see it at all when the cover is open (which is how I've gonna have it 99% of the time), but it still kinda stinks.
One interesting thing was how similar the Metal Composite's articulation scheme was compared to the ANIME RD Zaku. The MC has bicep and elbow swivels just like the RD, and the hip articulation is nearly identical with that bar that swings down in order to give you more forward kick range.
