Speaking of top coat... has anyone 3D printed their own Pokémon? I know they can often look like ass, but I've seen some good attempts, depending on the print and design. And if you're good with 3D, I think it could be pretty exciting to see some attempts of never-gonna-happen pokemon.
Starmie is my all time fav 'Mon, but sadly there's no good figure of it; especially in 1/12th size. Last year I made my own, by modifying the game model into separate connecting parts. I printed the jewel in clear plastic to get a glistening effect, although it came out kinda yellow. Overall I think it'll look nice when it's properly prepped, painted and perched next to the Emily swimsuit figma. At some point I'll do Staryu too.
