No. It's not.
Toe + ankle articulation allows you to balance nearly any figure in any real world pose and then some; so they can stand up on their own without any aides.
Complete bullshit that it's no longer the standard when the early Toy Biz figures all had articulated toes at a much lower pricepiont (even adjusted for inflation)
