Shin Godzilla is my more anticipated figure and he's pretty good for the most part. The sculpting is fine all around, with the exception of the head. The head looks strange from certain angles and totally fine from other angles. The paintwork is okay, but the glossiness found all throughout the body is missing on the head for some reason. Also the tail tip has this terrible splotchy orange applied, which doesn't bother me, but it doesn't achieve the look from the promo pics at all. My main issue with the fig are some floppy joints, which really confuse me. Every other Godzilla fig I've bought from NECA has some solid joints all around. The Shin has some pretty strong joints here and there (like entire upper torso), but the ones that suffer are also the most vital to the figure. The ankles and tail joints are so loose (even after applying acrylic floor polish) he has a really hard time standing up. I might try for another coat to see if that helps. Overall, I'm glad to have a decently priced Shin in my collection and he looks great next to my other NECA Zillas.
Unrelated to my disappointment, but unless NECA comes out with something I REALLY want (some more Gozillas/villains or smaller scale movie TMNT figures would be killer), I've pretty much feel like I've come to a stopping point with their figures for the time being. I have everything from their main lines that I want fo round out my collection and then some. I'm really curious to see what they'll have at SDCC though.
