And the chain is probably solid instead of a metal chain so that it can hold up the skirt anchors during posing instead of having to rely on a support arm from a stand or something. If it bothers you that much you can pick up cheap jewelers chain from art stores or if you're especially cheap those cheapo capsule jewelry toys for like 50 cents work too.

RG hands aren't articulated individually like that. The thumb and index finger are individually articulated, but the remaining 3 fingers are fused together and share a balljoint. I don't think the past several rg releases even bothered to include them either due to the complaints about them.
