>>11418249>>11418260I like the "natural" hip style too. Pic rel shows an alternate hip construction (for which I had Mata/Rahkshi arms in mind) that could allow for 3L axels without widening the hips over the original design, and could still be secured to the torso almost as-is.
I do really like the current design though, and I wonder how much more meaningful articulation there will be from any extensions to the head of the "femur." Right now it seems like a good mix of simplicity and function, and looks really nice for it.
Fxed bends in limbs always make me a little sad, though. Do you think there's any way to build a pin-based knee with enough friction to keep a figure standing? and without a big piston jutting out the back (it always disappointed me when pistons blew out the silhouette of a limb, though on the chest they look really good). Maybe two beams flush in parallel secured with pins at the head, then attached at the other end with those half-height 2x1 female axel pieces. Not that it'd be practical here, but I like to imagine.
