>>10507037Zoomer here. I grew up loving Indiana Jones and I truly think the original trilogy is timeless. I know plenty of other people my age and younger were shown these movies by their parents, and the toys aimed at older collectors (like the figuarts and Adveture series) are selling great. I know there's market for Indy. I see two reasons why the new toys may not be doing well. The first is that they overproduced them. They drastically overestimated how many toys they were going to sell and retailers were sort of forced to take them. The second and more obvious explanation is that the new movie is awful. It's so bad it makes Crystal Skull look like a masterpiece. It didn't raise nearly enough good will for more youth to get into Indy. When kids came out of the theaters for Raiders or Last Crusade they came out inspired by a world of adventure. The kids of those kids get dragged by their parents expecting to share that joy with the next generation. All the kids see is a boring old man, and their parents see their hero suicidal and humiliated by a snarky British lady. If this all sounds familiar it's because the exact same thing happened to Star Wars and they learned absolutely nothing.
TL;DR: It's Disney's fault.
