>>10950246Alt modes. I like that Chromia actually looks like a motorcycle (with a seat!) compared to Legacy Arcee; I also really like that the little sculpted dials on the back of Chromia's head become her dashboard; she also jas a little kickstand that flips down, but it doesn't really help keep her upright. Her transformation has her entire chest and 'wings' flip up from under her arms while they go back and her hips turn sideways, with her legs bunching up underneath.
Cheetor's Beast mode is worse than his robot one. As mentioned above, the beast paws do nothing to hide the robot hands and were unneccessary anyway, as none of his original toys changed the hands; they should have been similar to Tasmanian Kid's instead, with holes in the palms for his swords. His torso gets a little longer in Beast Mode, but not enough - compared to my CatSCAN, Cheetor looks more like a frog than a cat with the way his back legs are all bunched up; having no ankles really hurts him here, too, since there's no way to really straighten his legs. The biggest issue here is that his arms peg into his chest, preventing you from even moving them, meaning he's essentially a brick.
Shockwave's alt is the most fun of the group. He turns into an H-Tank, but he's actually got some interesting stuff going on with his chest - the front comes down over his crotch as his legs splay out and become the front treads, his belly then flips underneath to hold his hips in place, then the back half of his upper torso bends forward while his head folds down and arms lock into place to form the rear treads; the cannon slots into a peg hole that was concealed inside the chest; while not shown in the instructions (but shown on the box), the cannon's barrel is actually supposed to extend a bit, giving him a more menacing looking turret that can tilt up, down, and turn all the way around. It feels more like an actual transformation than his Siege mold sans the armor and actually LOOKS like something.
