>>6329670>The fact that they couldn't get any real volume of figures rolling out was evident of their management failures with the line.Wat?
Have you seen their most popular lines like the Arkham series?
There were like 15 figures released in total for each game.
They're not imitating Hasbro's model at all, because they can't. They're limited by how many toys they can release at one time (1-4) and those slow releases mean they'll never finish a series like Hasbro does before the next game comes out.
Direct market shops can't keep up the time table Hasbro puts out. Only big box stores like Walmarts can.
>That sounds like DCC's fault, not the retailer, if they can't even get the word out to the people they expect to help them get the line going. They put out a lot of material, explaining the differences between their toys, put out newsletters, and have hype shit up at conventions to consumers and retailers for years now.
There's no excuse for retailers not to know, especially one that comes to fucking /toy/
>>6329675I really can't speak about how sales are like in your area, but Icons here and at conventions seem to sell well, in that they don't have a lot of stock. Either it's because they didn't bother to carry the line or they sell out. My local comic book chain did sell out of mostly everything.
Still, the fact remains that figures like Demon were in demand and it's a huge let down that retailers won't order enough to get figures like that released.
