>>6111117I don't wanna rap on the guys that purely collect, but I've always hated that mentality and feel it's responsible for my own loss of interest over the past few years. I always liked to build with the stuff and come up with neat and interesting builds, but ever since Matt and co. stopped releasing larger varieties of parts in the same color, and some altogether (hub sets anyone?), I haven't had a good opportunity to make some cool shit. That paired with the less-than-ideal amount of lead-time causes me to miss most drops. I think I've seen like 2 big drops in the past year with a large part selection in interesting colors, but missed them because they're announced like 2 days beforehand and I don't check the blog every day. Maybe that's my fault, but honestly I don't feel interested enough to check as often anymore.
Smaller drops with a few specially-painted figures and 1 or 2 accessory sets are cool for collectors, but I like my part variety too much to become invested in buying stuff that I'm never gonna build with, so I just don't. Eh, to each their own.
