I also understand that 0079 was a show that really didn't have consistent proportions (heck, I was one of the people who explained this about Gainax back when people said Revo Gurren Lagann wasn't screen accurate). But I still do think there are some general hallmarks of the style that Bandai could have chosen and run with instead. They managed it pretty well for the recent vinyl figures they did.
