It was garbage, one of the most cliche backstories I've ever found in recent years rendered in the most uninspired way. And comparing it to Sasuke, really? There's like a shitton other anime that predate Naruto with a backstory for a character way closer to Jiren's that Sasuke (but still better done, look at Yu Yu Hakusho's Toguro).
