Agreed, even the Masterpiece name implies that they are supposed to be a culmination of all the best aspects of that character, blending Toon, toy and the real vehicle. MP1-10 era were so good because they gave us the idealized versions of the TFs that we had always imagined instead of just 1:1 updates of any of the three styles.

I'd like an option at least, I'm 30, I grew up with BW but G1 is also important to me, but in my mind's eye G1 looks like all that art from 03-2010 or so that was modernized. The Dreamwave, early IDW/3H , guys like Dan Khanna, Don and early Guido Guidi.

I still really love Dreamwave art. this is how transformers will always look in my head. sure the proportions could be a bit wonky but they felt heavy and strong.
