Opinion: Deluxe Class minibots; as a whole, pound for pound, are the single best thing to happen to Transformers since the inception of the Masterpiece line. They wouldnt even exist without the vast unified mainline we have currently, but these minibots fill so many heart-holes for me its insane. Are they Hasui designs? Are they all the same desiger? They really feel more loved in the design process than practically anything else. They feel like the designers said “fuck we are probably never gonna live to see MPs of all these get made we better send the fans our love letter now.” Every G1 kid had or at least played with some minibots no matter how poor. I think thats why everyone has a soft spot for them and it shows in their designs. Gears is probably one of the most fun and enjoyable transformations ever. An absolutely amazing “fiddle figure”.
