MMS figures in the same scale cost about half as much as the modern DX releases when the amount of raw materials that go in are comparable. One can really attribute this only to Ultraman making it big and Bandai smelling blood in the water. Fuck, they moved factories to Indonesia to save costs and a good chunk of merch took a QC hit for it.
There's definitely a case to be made that if the amount of new normie fans can be suckered in to buying shit, its worth the loss from price increases to leech on them for a good bit.
