It was in the 90s when the kids of the 80s became adult collectors fueled by POTF2, Spawn, Beast wars, etc. as well as a still relatively-affordable(compared to now) vintage market. Throw in the effect that the PS1 had on nerd culture, especially stuff like MGS, Final Fantasy, and Tomb Raider. Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only vintage toy nerd who's also a huge Final Fantasy fan. If you didn't play the PS1-era stuff back when it was new, you fucking missed something.
