Hello train anons. I am trying for the first time ever to attach a curved 9V train track to a baseplate. I understand that I need to build a ballast with mostly tiles and then strategically add 2x2 or 1x2 jumper plates (with the stud in the middle) and/or place individual 1x1 plates in the right spots. Obviously there has been much written online about this already, with some people even creating diagrams showing exactly where to place the studs like pic related. However, every single source I have come across starts with the straight part of the track set 4 studs inside the edge of the baseplate. I don't know why that seems to be the standard, (other than the MILS systems needs it to be able to disconnect the tracks from each other with the plates,) but I don't want to do that. I am building my track right up against the edge of the baseplate. Can any anons point me to a source that shows how to attach curved track to a 32x32 baseplate starting at the edge? Any guidance is appreciated.
