>>7816591But the lion’s share of bootleg quality problems is the head. It’s been noted in the first early reviews that the hair paint was put on thick and gloppy. While it is true that paint is put on thick, there’s also the fact that the copied sculpt of the hair is very jagged and not as clear-cut as the original would be. I used an exacto knife to slice away at some of the jaggies on the back hair line. It’s not fast nor easy, but it can be done with patience and a steady hand.
The inside of the head is sculpted very roughly with the entire left face plate hole a mangled mess of fuzzy sculpting. There’s also some sloppy gluing around the central face plate peg. I was lucky in that my Shizue could swap her face plates and front bangs with no problem. However several people in this thread have reported that they’ve had trouble removing the face plates. I’m guessing that the sloppy glue work is to blame. My suggestion is to use hot water or a hair dryer to heat the head up and slowly pry away the faceplate with a toothpick or a small flat edge plastic tool.
