More money generally just means a higher parts count and more paint apps; what matters is how those are used. There are a lot of Deluxes and Voyagers that have as many or more POA as MPs.
The thing about Transformers is that they're not just one toy; they have to pull double duty as both a vehicle AND an action figure, and hold up well in both modes. Revos and things are generally just humanoids, so they all move similarly and have the same general construction.
I've always found that collectors of other figures have a hard time coming to grips with this.
