The dolls went from articulated with elaborate costumes and accessories with a heavy goth/horror vibe to 5poa molded-on-clothes pastel figures.
Still too satanic/spooky for soccer moms to get their kids, and it turned off a lot of adult collectors because you couldn't do things like mix and match costumes anymore / the toys lost their "soul".
It's a damn shame, because /toy/'s MH threads were pretty comfy, you know, except for the daily "OMG GUYS IN THIS THREAD BUYING GIRL TOYS" shitposting.
