Had bought an installed a simple thin long LED bulb in a standard socket for a bookcase display at my old apartment over a decade ago. Now I would just get a simple strip.
I put one above my desk right now. Put it in a few years back. Though I would probably put it in a tube to diffuse the light some. Might still do it.
