The toy's robot mode is very standard carformer, and he's based on the least interesting aspects of Jurassic Park (the humans). It's like how people when asked if Grapple is a good toy just shrug and go "he gets the job done".
Also while not too loose on mine, the ball jointed elbows were a big surprise with how much modern TFs shy away from that.
