Finished the main control tower for the USS Ranger. I did a bit of scratch building on it because it lacks a lot of details, especially the upper mast which I pretty much completely replaced with brass.
The what I think are "fire control" radars on the front and back of the structure were horrible to make. The photo etching that Trumpeter provided is too thick to bend easily into the shape of the radar, mine got pretty fucked up as I tried to bend them time after time with poor results, so I ended up cutting them in half to make it easier, destroying some of the detail in the process.
I also used the boxart as a reference for the mast too, I added some more details that aren't molded onto the plastic based on it.
