His name was never used in UT and despite the Bayformers, Animated and Prime bringing back popularity to him, when it came to Generations nowadays Ratchet gets shafted a lot despite being part of the core cast.
You should really give Armada/Legends of Micron a watch, Karyuudosubs has the perfect version to watch so far. Legends of Micron with both Japanese and English audio because Armada was massively rushed with footage left unfinished or missing and was polished for the most part by the Japanese 6 months later. They took a page from Beast Wars and decided to make the anime more serious, dealing with themes like the violent nature of Transformers and camaraderie between soldiers. Yes the beginning is quite slow being centered largely on capturing Minicons but almost at the halfway point is where the anime gets interesting with Starscream having the best character arc and outshining his G1 version.
