>>9939383I know what you're saying, anon, but let's look at the facts here: many figures were crippled by action features and even the ones without them (like Dooku) were so close, *but*...
Or if we look at Obi-Wan and Anakin, there were three Obi-Wans and Anakins in the ROTS line; the charred Anakin/Vader serves a scene-specific purpose but the other two are, like the other two Obi-Wans, hot garbage. Likewise, two General Grievouses were released and both ended up being a waste of plastic and we had to wait until 2009 to get a decent, tall enough Grievous.
Admittedly, many of the backgrounders were and still are great, like Mas Amedda or Meena Tills. A shame they can't sit, but can't have everything, can we now?
My real gripe with the ROTS lineup is that though ROTS was a *huge* deal, objectively speaking, retail in my European shithole totally failed to grasp this and stores only sold the action feature crippled figures a.k.a "Collection 1". All "Collection 2" figures, even Dooku, I had to get used or via trades from fellow collectors in the States. Likewise, the Mustafar playset, which I so desperately wanted (not even knowing at the time it'd be the last real playset Hasbro would release for a long, long, *long* time) was never sold here and easily fetches three-digit sums, apparently.
Still, I am a bit surprised that we've not seen a definitive TVC version of many of the Jedi characters, like Kit Fisto, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Shaak Ti, Agen Kolar...and let's be fair, a TVC Dooku is also long overdue.
Pic tangentially related: playsets these days. It's a fun set, I'll give it that much, but just not worth the original price tag, especially in Yurop, where SW things are almost never discounted and the starting price is at least 20% higher than the USD price.
