Against my better judgement, I picked up one of the clearanced Capsule Chix (Ctrl+Alt+Magic) at Wal-Mart for $9. What I got was the figure in the picture. The Ra-Ra figs were the only other cutesy type figures I had on hand for comparison.
>The Good
She's bigger than what I expected. I like the glossy finish on the eyes. The hair is flocked. I guess I got one of the rarer hairs. She's cute all around.
>The Bad
Yeah, there's alot of packaging waste once you're done assembling her. I really don't know what to do with the leftover capsules or fancy box. You can disassemble the doll, put the items back into the capsules, and then put the capsules back into the package, but the "magic" of unboxing is gone once you know what you're going to get.
The hair is HEAVY, like 3/4 of her body heavy. She can't stand on her own without the stand.
>The Ugly
I'm not a big fan of the curly hairstyle. If I had better info on what I'd be getting, I'd rather go with Giga Glam or Ram Rock. (Both of which, oddly, are full price at my Wal-Mart.) But you don't really know until you read the enclosed booklet and see all the body parts in the series.
All in all, no surprises here, just mild disappointment. The blind bag gambling raises the price for a mini doll that would do good for $7~8 if you knew what you're getting. Despite the flaws, Capsule Chix has alot of heart in it. If Moose knew what they were doing, they'd unleash Garret to do a proper sci-fi fashion doll line and not follow the bling bag fad.
