I didn't have to wait for any drying time and the lines don't rub off because they're recessed. You'd have to try really hard to get a fingernail in there or some shit to touch them. As I said in the previous thread, you're blowing this WAY out of proportion and grasping at straws to catastrophize the situation in every way possible. You are basically this old PA strip in action.
As I mentioned, do an ink wash if you're doing a large amount of figures at once. I don't know how to make it any easier for you. It's literally SLOPPING INK OVER A FIGURE and then wiping it clean with a paper towel. It gets no lazier than that, and requires no "artist skills."
