So anon, a color gel is a piece of tinted translucent plastic one places in front of a light to tint it a certain color. I vaguely remember in your identical post in the Gunpla general that you want to light a beam weapon with it, right? You could probably build the gel right into the handle or hilt or what have you, just affix a tiny piece of it between the LED and the clear blade.
