Not only is it very difficult to stop IP infringement in China, which has no real laws against it, but Hasbro doesn't own the concept of transforming robots nor can any company own the general look of a character. Hasbro also isn't as threatened by the more expensive 3p products as you might think. The demand for relatively inexpensive toys is still large and 3p toys generally appeal to really hardcore collectors who will probably pick and choose from the multiple brands. Kids and parents are still going to be choosing official toys because of cost and availability, those super collectors will pick up a few official toys here and there. And then the 3p accessory studios will occasionally fuel demand in the mid-range collectors, such as myself. I've definitely said yes to a few Generations toys because I knew an upgrade kit was available to fix my issues with the toy. Sure, I'd prefer that Hasbro ship toys with more and better accessories and without hollow limbs, but I'm not switching my collection to a different scale or aesthetic now, and 3p isn't making many CHUG-style toys.
