1. I think the issue is indeed the wheel wells;
2. a secondary issue may be these little nodules (pic related) sticking up. there are no corresponding divets in the upper part of the wing for them to fit in; in effect the inner flat surface of the top wing is just sitting on these nodules.
there's a possibility these nodules are there to help the top part of the wing "rest" on the bottom half and provide enough space for the radiator slats and flaps to fit in there. BUT.... these nodules don't appear in the instructions, those raised sections are completely flat. so I don't know what the fuck is going on.
